Since I got my MacBook Pro 17″, I set up Outlook 2011 for email purposes. Didn’t notice anything for a while but when I was not listening to music I would hear a little “tsch” sound once every couple minutes. This was annoying while listening to music. When I looked in the Preferences -> Notifications & Sounds (found by pressing ⌘, while in Outlook) I saw that the default was to play a sound whenever there were messages sync errors. Basically if the server was down, or couldn’t be reached, or I didn’t have a password entered.
Since I have disabled the Mailbox sync error that annoying sound hasn’t made a peep.
